A Piece of Paradise®
There's an alternative to your daily supermarket shop, where the potatoes come all the way from Egypt or the runner beans from Morocco. More than 50 of southern Burgenland's top producers have joined forces to form the "Southern Burgenland – A Piece of Paradise®" brand with the aim of maintaining the high quality of the regional specialities. Some of the "Paradise" partner businesses are vintners whose fine wines are causing a great sensation far beyond Austria's borders and whose vines epitomise the idyllic landscape. Others produce delicacies that are unique to the region on their farms or small businesses, such as honey, farmhouse bread or pasta.
The Paradise restaurants serve as focal points for all the culinary specialities. They prepare their meals primarily using produce from the region's Paradise firms. You can buy the regional produce either directly from the producer or in the Paradise shops.
The Paradise businesses are also happy to throw open their doors to visitors for the "Paradise Days", which take place on the 3rd weekend in May every year. During this event, you can visit the producers and businesses directly and take a peek behind the scenes – like a kind of open day. This is best combined with an e-bike cycling tour, as most of the Paradise partner businesses also have an e-bike rental station.
